Family

Time can go by so fast. My brother and his family have been visiting for the past 10 days. At first it seemed like they would be here forever. Tomorrow they board a plane to go back home. I feel like they haven't been here hardly at all. It's been a wonderful visit. We have both seen friends we haven't seen in 20 years. And I've introduced them to some of our wonderful friends. I'm going to miss them! But look forward to seeing them in March.

Now it's time to get organzied around here. it never ends! happy sunday!

Duel in the Desert

My brother and his family arrived here yesterday afternoon. We are having a football party tonight in honor of the Wildcats vs Sun Devils. Some of our dearest friends will be watching with us. A steak dinner is on the line. My hubby and I have been the loosers the past 2 years, we hope for a change this year.

Tis the season to be ORGANIZED!!!

Oh boy! Do I need a calendar just for the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas! So much to do...so little time. Thank goodness I am off work for just over 2 weeks during Christmas! That's when I will catch up on rest..lazy mornings...movie afternoons...nice homecooked dinners that we don't have to rush through..ah..bliss!

Thanksgiving was wonderful! I love spending time with my family and friends. I didn't make it out early Friday. I slept until 7:30 - that is sleeping in for me! LOL! The rest of the weekend flew by.

Think about what kinds of holiday treats, ok, Christmas cookies, you like to bake the most. If anyone reads this, please let me know what you like to bake.

Friday, Friday, Friday is my Favorite day...

I love Friday's! I love knowing I don't have to wake to my alarm clock on Saturday. I try to keep weekends open, especially when my husband is on-call.
Today was a good day. I have decided that if I ever take a Thursday off again, I will add Friday. Tomorrow my teenage daughter and some of her friends are going to see Twilight! I bought tickets today so they don't have to wait tomorrow.
My backyard is almost done! I'm so excited and just so glad to have a project nearly finished! Then the tile can start! Oh boy! Almost a new house without moving! Love it!!

Next week is Thanksgiving - it seems to get here sooner each year. But I love this time of year!!

A Day Off...

Sometimes you need to take a day off just to take a day off. One of my girlfriends has gone back to school and we just don't get the time together like we used to. So a couple of weeks ago, she asked me if I would take a day off so we could spend some time together. We had a great morning! We went to Dream Dinners - now my freezer is full and we went to lunch! Bliss, I tell you, pure bliss!

Now for the other big news. Our backyard is finally getting the flagstone put in place! I can't even tell you how utterly excited I am for this. We ordered tile for our house nearly 2 years ago - there is a light at the end of this long tunnel! As soon as the backyard is done, we can put the tile down in the house. It will seem like a new house! YAHOO!

Weekends...

I love weekends! But they end so fast. I try to enjoy the most of the non-week responsibilities of life. Sometimes, usually, they carry over into the weekend. Last night I went to happy hour with some very special girlfriends. Then I went to a nice dinner with my hubby! I had the best of both worlds! AWESOME!
The kiddos are with Nana. We are all so glad she and grandpa moved back to Tucson! It's a little too quiet around the house!! LOL!
I wish I knew what "earth moving" things I could share. We are just a typical family in this crazy race of life. Well, at least we think we are typical. I guess that could be debatable depending on what you thing is typical.
So, I've started posting some comments on blogs that I read. Who knows if anyone will read this. But it's kinda fun to have something "out there."

Better start writing...

Since I've told one of my coworkers that I have a blog, I better start writing something. HA!
I think we should only have school 4 days a week - what a nice break yesterday. Yes, I did thank the Veterans - they sure deserve some thanks!!
So anyway, I've been reading lots of blogs, but not commenting. I guess I should change that too.

Fall Break

What a great treat to be off school for a week in Oct. This is the first year we have experienced this. So far, we like it.
We just got back from a fabulous vacation at my brother's house. So much fun reconnecting with family who live far away. They will be coming our way in early December - we can't wait for that visit.
Kids are chilling out today - great day for that.
That's all that is new in our neck of the "woods."

So, I still have a lot to figure out about this blogging thing..I want my page to have pictures and whatnot on it.
We are enjoying down time when we find it. Yesterday wasn't so bad. Son had a baseball game for 2 hours in the middle of the morning. HOT! Daughter babysat for our wonderful friends. Nice quiet afternoon and evening at home.
Oh, the CUBS are going to the playoffs! Go Cubs Go!!!
And the Wildcats beat the Bruins - very nicely if I do say so myself.
